Chris Carney for VP of Middle Schools

I am a teacher at IS 51 in Staten Island and have been teaching grades 6-8 in NYC schools for 25 years. I have taught various subjects and worked in different programs designed to address the needs of students with learning difficulties. I was a UFT Chapter Delegate from 2010-2013 and transitioned to Chapter Leader at the end of my tenure. As a member of New Action Caucus (NAC), I share their core values of member-driven unionism, a strong contract, transparency and accountability, and fighting together for improved working conditions for all educators and staff. I am running with ARISE for our dignity and to improve our students’ learning conditions.
