I was a UFT Chapter Leader and Delegate for 20 years at Bushwick HS and Fort Hamilton HS, represented high school teachers for many terms on the UFT Executive Board, and was UFT Vice-President of Academic High Schools from 1985-1987.

Currently, I am the vice chair leader of the Retired Teacher chapter and represent the insurgent anger of many retirees who are upset about the union leadership’s long campaign to force privatized Medicare “Advantage” onto retirees. Retired UFTers and in-service members are seeing major attacks against our living and working conditions.

Only by standing together can we beat back the threats to our health benefits and our autonomy as educators. ARISE combines the experience and the know-how to address these and other concerns effectively.
